We want to instil in our dual-study students the very qualities that make a good box-to-box player in football: knowing the whole pitch, understanding the interplay between players and thinking beyond one’s own position. That is precisely why we at the SOCCA GROUP have launched our new box-to-box model.
In football, a box-to-box player is a true all-rounder. He moves between defence and attack, takes on a variety of roles and always keeps an eye on the bigger picture.
We apply this philosophy to the training of our dual-study students. After all, anyone who wishes to take on responsibility in the long term and play an active role in shaping the SOCCA GROUP should not only be familiar with their own area of responsibility, but also understand how the various departments interrelate.
That is why, during their first year of study, our dual-track students spend time in all departments of the SOCCA GROUP. Over a period of two days in each department, they familiarise themselves with the tasks, processes and challenges of the individual departments and gain an insight into the skills required for each.
Don’t just watch – get involved
To ensure that these insights turn into real-life experience, there is a designated contact person in each department. This person organises the two-day programme, integrates the students into day-to-day operations and assigns them specific tasks.
This means that our young talents can not only look over their colleagues’ shoulders, but also get involved themselves, try out new tasks and develop a better understanding of the various processes.
At the same time, the model fosters communication between departments. If you know what the other teams are working on, what challenges they are overcoming and how the individual tasks are interlinked, you will be better able to contribute ideas and collaborate more effectively within your own department later on.
More perspectives. More understanding. A stronger team.
Through the ‘Box-to-Box’ programme, we aim to give our dual-study students the opportunity to look beyond their own horizons, discover new interests and strengths, and build a cross-functional network within the SOCCA GROUP at an early stage.
After all, in the end, everyone benefits: our students gain valuable experience and a broader understanding of business; our teams benefit from greater collaboration; and the SOCCA GROUP gains young talent who keep the bigger picture in mind.
Others call it a trainee programme. We call it Box-to-Box. ⚽
