Perfect preparation in Leogang
Midsummer temperatures, gruelling training sessions, intensive team-building days – and, to round it all off, two convincing friendly wins: Head coach Aleš Majer and Czech first-division side FK Mladá Boleslav can look back on a successful week of training in the Salzburg region.
The choice fell on Leogang, nestled between the Leoganger Steinberge and the Kitzbühel Alps – one of Austria’s most beautiful holiday regions and, at the same time, a location with professional football facilities. The focus was on fine-tuning the team ahead of the start of the league season: intensive training sessions, two friendly matches against high-profile opponents from Germany and Austria, and targeted team-building activities.
Form test passed: two wins
On just the third day of the training camp, Mladá Boleslav faced German second-division newcomers FC Energie Cottbus at the Steinbergstadion in Leogang. After an evenly matched start, the Czechs ran out 4–2 winners – with goals from Langhamer, Buryán, John and Zíka. Justin Butler and Erik Engelhardt scored for Cottbus.
The pre-season concluded on 18 July with a final warm-up match against Austrian Bundesliga side SV Ried. After a goalless first half, Mladá Boleslav stepped up a gear in the second half: Langhamer, who scored twice, along with Klíma and Kolář, secured a comfortable 4–0 victory.
Ideal conditions, high levels of satisfaction
Apart from the initial heat, Aleš Majer, who is heading into his second season as head coach, was thoroughly satisfied with the conditions. No wonder: the owner-managed 4* Hotel Leonhard provided a relaxed and warm atmosphere, whilst the well-maintained training pitches not far from the accommodation ensured professional working conditions. Short distances, clear procedures, full focus on the pitch. And the team-building activities, including a mountain excursion and a zip-line adventure, were also enthusiastically received by the squad.
Personalised care that you can really feel
Throughout the week, the squad was accompanied by a SOCCATOURS team from the Czech Republic and Austria – from the day of arrival right through to departure.
“We were on site all week with our Austrian colleagues and liaised with the coaching team every day to ensure everything ran smoothly – from training times to the organisation of friendly matches and the many other issues that arose over the course of the week. Personal support is invaluable. We’re there for our teams when it really matters,” said Roman Simek, Country Manager at SOCCATOURS Czechia. “Working with the whole team led by Aleš Majer and team manager Marek Matějovský was simply brilliant and great fun.”

The aim: a focus on sporting success
For SOCCATOURS, which has been organising training camps across Europe for clubs in all leagues for over 20 years, this is precisely the benchmark: first-class facilities, strong opponents for friendly matches and a seamless, all-round programme with a personal point of contact on site. The training camp in Leogang is further proof of how the combination of a top location, professional organisation and personalised support contributes to sporting success.
