From studying geography to the football pitch
Constantin Grillenbeck is joining our team to help with one of our most exciting new projects: Consti has been supporting us since September as a work-study student in sports management and will be contributing his football expertise primarily to SOCCASHAPE going forward.
After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Consti was certain that he wanted to reorient his career and move into a field that was one of his greatest passions: the sports industry, and football in particular. Since September, he has therefore been studying Football Management at the University of Applied Management (HAM) and is completing the practical part of his dual degree programme at the SOCCA GROUP.
Football: not just in theory
Consti certainly has what it takes. He has been involved in football for many years – both as a player and as a coach. Amongst others, he has played for and continues to be involved with ESV Rosenheim, TSV 1860 Rosenheim – with whom he also played in the Bayernliga – and TuS Prien.
He is also already familiar with the coaching side of things: Consti has completed the DFB Basic Coach and C Licence courses and has gained experience at clubs including SV Austria Salzburg and FC Wacker Innsbruck.
It is precisely this combination of his own experience on the pitch, his coaching expertise and his contacts with clubs and coaches in the region that provides the ideal foundation for his role at SOCCASHAPE.
Football knowledge for SOCCASHAPE
With SOCCASHAPE, we are building a new knowledge platform for coaches in amateur and youth football. The aim is to present football and coaching knowledge in a way that is easy to understand, practical and structured so that coaches can apply the content directly to their day-to-day work on the training ground.
To this end, Consti researches topics relating to football and training, consults with experienced coaches and experts, and helps to translate their knowledge and practical experience into high-quality content for SOCCASHAPE.
This is not about prescribing a single ‘correct’ approach to football coaching. Rather, we want to help coaches better understand what they are coaching – and why.
We’re delighted to have Consti, another genuine footballer, on the team and are looking forward to seeing what he brings to SOCCASHAPE. To kick things off, we’ve of course asked him our five questions again:
1. How did you come across the SOCCA GROUP?
I was already familiar with the SOCCA GROUP because its headquarters were close to where I used to live. I then came across this specific vacancy through the job advert on the HAM website.
2. What was your first impression of the team and the corporate culture?
Very open, warm and cheerful.
3. Which activities are you most looking forward to?
To the work and discussions on football-related topics – both within the team and with external coaches and experts.
4. What has been your greatest sporting achievement so far in your life?
My seahorse. 😄
5. Name two words that describe you.
Calm and sociable.
